This is the 18th year that Congregation Emanu-El Israel brings the “Taste” to Westmoreland County. Each year the “Taste” welcomes springtime to Westmoreland County. Last year more than 1,000 people came to “taste” more than 30 premier restaurants and caterers of Westmoreland County. The Student Union was transformed into a festival of food, friendship and most of all, FUN! Thanks to the generous support of area merchants, salons, gift shops and supermarkets, Congregation Emanu-El Israel (CEI) was able to give away valuable door prizes throughout this very fun-filled and affordable family evening.
The event showcases the very best of Westmoreland County’s eclectic restaurant offerings. The “Taste” is a tremendous asset to our community, one which increases commerce, encourages tourism and showcases the quality of life right here in our hometown.
Other larger communities that have similar events include: Cincinnati, OH; Boston, MA; Greater Hartford, CT; Toronto, Ontario, Canada; Tacoma, WA and Dallas, TX. The “Taste of Westmoreland” places Greensburg and Westmoreland County in a very elite group of communities who realize the value of such an event to the growth and sustainability of their communities.
Fill your plates with the best Westmoreland County has to offer and sit down, relax and visit with family and friends! There will be a large Chinese auction, Randy Bish of the Tribune Review will be on hand to do caricatures, and, as always, door prizes and our famous Silent Auction! Music will be provided throughout the evening.
